Overseas Mission
All Christians can share in the privilege of extending
the gospel to all people in all countries. Our parish has committed to supporting four particular overseas missions each
year. Currently we support the Anglican Missions Board and give additionally to three following projects. We
will be announcing new projects soon.
Msalato Theological College
Papua New Guinea health project
SOMA - Vanuatu
Each month we will feature one of the projects and invite you to make a special offering in the envelopes supplied.
Please write the name of the mission and your name/giving number if you have one, if you want your offering to be included
in your annual giving receipt. Any general non-specified missions giving may be forwarded to support a wide range of Anglican
Missions through the Anglican Missions Board.
MSALATO THEOLOGICAL COLLEGE
Msalato Theological College in the heart of Tanzania, East Africa, is a vital launching pad for full time Christian
ministry. Most of the students come from poor families, and fees are a constant struggle. This is your opportunity to provide
scholarships for high-quality training for up to six students - men and women - so that they may go out equipped to teach,
to preach and to make disciples of Jesus Christ.

Mission to Vanuatu
2008
Invitation: The Bishop of Vanuatu has invited us to return to Pentecost in
the September/October Holidays to the Island of Pentecost in September 2007. We will go under the auspices of SOMANZ - Sharing
of Ministries Abroad NZ.
Purpose: To bring spiritual renewal to the church in Pentecost.
What will we do: After the success of last years mission I would like to bring a
smaller mostly adult team of 5 to focus on training leaders in the gifts of the Holy Spirit and general leadership formation.
I can envisage a three day event focused mostly on leaders (lay and clergy) to be held in two different locations (perhaps
Attivo and Lolkasae or Loltongwai) to accommodate all the key people from the different districts. We are also considering
bring spectacles and investigating water filtration.
Dates: At this stage likely dates
are 29 September to 8 October. These dates coincide with the school holidays in Vanuatu and fit within our holidays.
Team: The team members must be willing to step out in faith, be flexible, have a testimony to share and be
able to pray with people. We will need a musician to help lead worship. The team will be lead by the vicar. A team of 5 would
be ideal.
Pentecost Island: North Pentecost supplies the key leadership for
the Anglican diocese and the Government of Vanuatu. Investing in local leaders will be an investment in the whole nations.
Costs: Based upon known costs the basic cost for an individual should be around
$2500 plus any shopping and vaccinations that may be needed. There will be some assistance from the parish depending upon
the amount raised and the leaders costs.
